I really enjoyed my time in Ellijay at the campground. I spent some time with my friend, Karen. We talked a lot, read books, walked around the campground, drove around the resort and town. Karen grilled some BBQ Chicken for us that was wonderful. I also read a little in a book that I had. I have a sore throat and cold congestion, so I’m not writing much for the blog – just posting some pictures of the memory.
I had a friend comment on the town having a ‘weird’ name. I suppose that the resort name is also ‘weird’. <I’ve been informed that Coosawattee means ‘Green Rivers’ in Cherokee.> In Georgia, many rivers and towns are named with Indian names. After a while of seeing and hearing it in the area, we get used to it.

Hey Julie! Glad you enjoyed your time in Coosawattee (which I understand is Cherokee for green waters), you should have stopped by the house while you were there. Come up again and check the resort web site for Pickin’ On The Porch at the General Store. Bring a chair and enjoy great music, you saw the stage at the store so you know where it is.
